What are the Chances...

that my kids will eat these??? Matthew spotted this stalk of brussle sprouts at Trader Joe's the other day and we both thought they looked pretty cool. Now they are sitting in the fridge (not even the fridge INSIDE the house) just waiting, and staring at me each time I open the door as if to say, "I dare you". I won't be intimidated by veggies, and I actually like brussle sprouts, but I'm just not sure how to get my little darlings to take a bite. Any ideas? What do you do to help your kids eat more adventurously?

I can't get my kids to eat these for the life of me. Last time I tried, I sauteed them with butter (it would be better if they're blanched first). My oldest ate one cringing the whole way. I personally love them.

Your ant pictures give me the shivers! We always had huge ant problems growing up in California. We get some here, but nothing like yours! The liquid ant bait is the best for us, too. Good luck!

I won't even consider going there. You are brave.

I love brussle sprouts like you love butter. Never in my married life have I purchased those nasty little cabbages. Good luck to ya!

I used to really love these, but I tried making them a couple of years ago and didn't like them at all. Is it possible that sometimes you get good ones and sometimes you get bad ones -- like artichokes? Anyway. . . lots of butter is a must and I would cook them sooner rather than later.

I love them all sorts of ways. But I saw a way of making them that kids might actually eat in a magazine the other day. They made sort of a salad/slaw out of them. Chop them all up like you would for slaw and then mix them with thinnly sliced apples, crasins, nuts, a little poppy seed dressing or mayo. make them into a waldorf sort of a salad. You might even add mandrin oranges. They said to use it for salad because they don't wilt and taste delicious. So don't even bother cooking them. It might be your best bet.
